Bike Magazine’s Bible of Bike Tests will be hitting newsstands during the first week of January and one of the standout bikes in that issue is Giant’s new Trance Advanced SX 27.5. Here’s a short teaser that gives a glimpse into the bike’s capabilities.

The lightweight, 5.5-inch travel bike is incredibly capable. All-day grunts in the outback? You bet. Punishing descents? Sure. Fast-paced cross-country rides? Absolutely. In this more aggressive “SX” package, the new Giant model is a bit of a quiver killer and one of their best bikes in years.

Here are the basic specs:

*Giant’s Advanced-grade composite frame (carbon front triangle, aluminum swing arm)
*Maestro rear suspension
*Fox 34 Talas CTD Factory Kashima with 15mm thru-axle, OverDrive 2 steerer 140-160mm suspension fork
*Fox Float-X CTD Factory Kashima rear shock
