It’s been almost a month since the first World Cup DH stop of 2018, and the second stop at Fort William, Scotland, is quickly approaching (June 2-3). To whet their appetite for Scotland’s most demanding, the Athertons raced Fort William during the UK National Downhill Series. The national track isn’t a picnic. It’s long, hard and physical, and for both Gee and Rachel Atherton, it holds a deep psychological challenge. During the British Downhill series last year, Gee had a massive over-the-bars crash, resulting in a dislocated hip. Only weeks later, during a practice run at the World Cup, Rachel suffered a similar fate, resulting in a dislocated shoulder.

After a season of recovery, both are back in healthy condition for the year. Watch the video to find out how they fared at their return to Fort William, and mark your calendars for the World Cup weekend in a few weeks.
