Atherton Diaries: Rachel is Back

The Athertons have had a tough 2018. Despite finally going into a season healthy, Gee has had trouble putting everything together on race day. He still has yet to get a result he is happy with.

Charlie Hatton had solid results in Croatia and Fort William, but ended up taking a fall pre-race in Leogang, putting him out of the finals.

Rachel has dominated the World Cup circuit for years, easily taking the overall, until last year. She crashed at Fort William and wasn't able to get back to form for the rest of the season. Then the 2018 season came and she still wasn't able to put together a winning run—until Leogang. She left the starting gate and blew the rest of the competition out of the water. Only Myriam Nicole looked to be in touch, but a couple mistakes kept her in second and Rachel was back on top. Can she carry the momentum into Val di Sole next month? Only time will tell.
