Generally considered one of, if not the best trail network on Colorado’s Front Range, there’s no place more fitting to conclude our four-part ‘Riding the Range’ series than White Ranch. Located just outside of downtown Golden, this is a true mountain-biker’s network.
White Ranch’s Belcher Hill is an infamously brutal climb–it isn’t especially technical but the grade is enough to merit its name, with just about every rider who points his or her wheel up it regretting the decision–until they reach the top, that is. The descent is littered with drops, berms, technical sections and brake-begging views, making the tough climb completely worth it.
