Despite a light but steady rain that poured throughout the afternoon, exuberant crowds pressed up alongside A-Line to cheer on nearly 150 racers in the 2013 Crankworx Whistler Air DH race.

What makes the Air DH race one of the Whistler mountain bike festival’s most exciting and popular events? For starters, it’s a fantastic opportunity to see some of the world’s fastest and most stylish downhillers ripping (and whipping) down one of the world’s most legendary trails. One by one, nearly 150 male and female racers tore down the course, some focused purely on speed and others dedicated to stoking out the excitable crowds.

By the time the likes of Danny Hart, Brian Lopes, Mick Hannah and winner Stevie Smith dropped in, the excitement of the spectators had reached near-fever pitch. Many a beer was consumed. Many bells were jingled. Many moons were hung.

If you weren’t one of the lucky people who were there, hopefully our photo gallery will make you feel like you were.
