YT has always been a consumer-direct brand in Europe. For U.S. operations, it traditionally went through a distribution partner. YT doesn’t necessarily sell through local bike shops, but also isn’t exactly consumer-direct. This changes today. YT Industries USA will implement the same direct-sales strategy it uses in Europe here in the states. What does this mean for consumers? YT claims it will result in better pricing, improved service and increased availability. The new distribution office is based in San Clemente, California.

If you follow the bike industry closely, you probably know that Cam Zink has been at the helm for YT USA. You probably also know that Zink rides as an athlete for YT. With the new office, Zink will no longer lead distribution but will continue as an athlete and contribute to the business.
