Rider Airs Out Huge Christmas 360
While mountain biking is most popular during the warm summer months, a dedicated core is ready to send it year-round.
Watch one rider 360 into a snowy gravel pit on Christmas below.
In this video, a rider pulls for a 360 off a step down in the dead of winter off a gnarly plywood takeoff. That is the spirit of freeride!
Beyond the sheer impressive nature of going for this stunt in the cold winter, it is a very technical trick. Landing a step down has far more velocity than a normal jump or a step up. Moreover, the landing is loose gravel.
It is an expert move to land such a spin. Gravel pits such as this have become popular riding destinations. Riders have the opportunity to launch themselves down steep hills without worrying about trees.
In fact, sandy hillsides were where freeride began!
