Skateboarding Legend Steve Caballero Is Stoked On Mountian Biking
Steve Caballero is not a name most mountain bikers would ordinarily be familiar with. However, though you may not know the man, you likely know his legacy.
Steve created a trick on his skateboard back in the 80's where the rider rolls in backward, pops up into the air, and spins 180 degrees. That trick is called the Half Cab and it changed action sports forever.
Here's an example of a half cab on a bike.
Its influence extends well beyond skateboarding these days as the term and trick have been appropriated by skiing, mountain biking, BMX, snowboarding, you name it. So, when the namesake himself decided to get into mountain biking, naturally we took notice.
Steve shared an update about his love for mountain biking and the progress he has been making, turns out he's at least as good of a biker as he is a skater. Take a look at him gassing a big canyon near his home in Southern California in the video below.
In his "retirement" from skateboarding, Steve has been very active on his mountain bike and, especially for a guy in his late 50s, is absolutely tearing it up. We love to see it and we hope to see Steve continue to shred for years to come.
