"I'll Be Back"- Rider Promises Redemption After Brutal Crash

Ouch!

When trying new features, especially big ones, there is always a risk that things go wrong. Latea Hancey discovered this the hard way recently on a big drop in Arkansas.

Watch her go over the bars and slam off a large drop below.

In this video, Latea got towed off DH7, the largest drop in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. As she went off, she got bucked forward a little bit and landed nose-heavy. This sent her crashing over the bars.

Thankfully, Hancey walked away with only bruises. On a drop this big the crash could have been worse. What saved Latea from more serious injury was likely that instead of immediately going over the bars, she first was pitched forward and had some of her groundward momentum diminished by rolling on her front wheel. Had she landed slightly further forward, Latea would have immediately gone face-first into the ground.

Eureka Springs, AR, is a popular mountain bike destination in the Ozark Mountains about an hour east of Bentonville.
