It’s been a couple years since the first of many 29-inch DH bikes were unleashed on a not-entirely-unsuspecting race scene. Trek, Santa Cruz, Intense, Devinci and Kona, to name a few, have been loud and proud about their wagon-wheeled big bikes. Other brands, who may be proud but can’t yet be be loud, still have 29ers in the race pits, out there on display for anyone with a blog and an iPhone to see. That’s why it’s no surprise to learn that the Pivot Phoenix 29 is coming. Pivot athletes Bernard Kerr and Eddie Masters have been on the big-wheeled burning bird for about a season, and today is the day that Pivot goes public with the news.

Bernard Kerr, flicking.

But news is all we’ve got right now. No availability dates, no geo numbers, no spec lists and no pricing. All we know is that there’s a carbon version and an alloy one. We’ll update you with the details when we get them.
