4X qualifying—riders load themselves into the start gate one by one and then, bang, it's just rider against the clock, all in the name of seeding. Simple premise, really: go fast, and your early rounds are against slow pokes; go slow and your early rounds are against excruciatingly fast people—like Jared Graves, Romain Saladini, Guido Tschugg, Dan Atherton, or Joost Wichman, who qualified fastest at Mont-Sainte-Anne.
For the ladies (with only thirteen riders entering), a slow qualifying time automatically places you in the start bracket with Anneke Beerten, Jill Kintner Fionn Griffiths Melissa Buhl or Anita Molcik. Good luck.
Drop in later this evening (like after 9 pm Eastern Standard Time) here at Bike Mag and see who slaughters whom in the mud fest.
