Olympic gold at the Rio 2016 games, World Champion U23 in 2016, World Cup Champion U23 in 2015—to say Jenny Rissveds is a promising XC talent is an understatement. But you won’t be seeing much of her in 2018. Rissveds announced she is terminating her contract with the Scott-SRAM MTB Racing team. She’s been with Scott-SRAM since 2014, earning most of her podiums under the Scott-SRAM umbrella. But she isn’t moving to another team, she is taking time off.

After winning the Olympic gold in Rio, a lot changed for Rissveds in a short period of time. There was a disagreement with the Swedish Cycling Federation over sponsorship which resulted in her not being able to attend the World Championships and she lost both her grandfathers in a short period of time. As a result, Rissveds took much of the 2017 season off, and has now decided she is still not ready to return.

Scott-SRAM is sad to hear Rissveds will not be returning for the 2018 season, but supports her decision and wishes her the best for her future.
