Hand Designed World Cup Frame Enters Exciting New Design Phase
Perhaps the coolest World Cup team out there is Frameworks Racing. Frameworks races on a frame designed by Neko Mulally and made in America.
Excitingly, Mulally announced the next iteration of the frames: bonded aluminum. See the updated frame below.
On this iteration, Neko is ditching welded aluminum for Loctite and lugs. He says this will provide a better strength-to-weight ratio. From my perspective, it also looks cleaner and shinier.
Plenty of bikes, especially prototypes getting tweaked, use lugs. The Pivot squad has been ripping their new prototype that is also lugged.
It is exciting to see Neko making tweaks to this bike, especially such aesthetically pleasing ones. It is this mindset that will allow his frames to reach their full potential.
Neko Mulally is a longtime professional racer who set out on this unique project at the beginning of 2022. After picking up Asa Vermette in 2023, Frameworks is a full, official squad ready for the World Cup in 2024. Read more about the project below.
