Downhill Commentator Shows He Can Still Shred
In all sports, the best commentators are former athletes. This is no different for mountain biking.
Alongside Rob Warner, Former World Cup racer Eliot Jackson made up half of the most popular commentating booth the World Cup has seen. Earlier this month, Jackson showed he still has it. Watch him carve through some corners expertly on a trip to Washington below.
Eliot Jackson is a ripper on a bike. In this video, he effortlessly dances through some tight corners on a chute before drifting the last one.
These skills come as no surprise to anyone who has followed Jackson’s career. Eliot was a former BMX racer turned downhiller. He was consistently a top World Cup 30 racer, and in 2017, he made it into the top 10 in a World Cup for the first time.
In the last few years, the 33-year-old has taken a step back from racing and found his home in the downhill commentary booth alongside Rob Warner. The duo made a great broadcast team for Red Bull TV. Unfortunately, Red Bull was outbid for the broadcast for the 2023 season, So Rob and Eliot are off the big stage, much to the disappointment of many fans.
Thankfully, we still get to hear them call non-Word Cup Races such as Crankworx and Hardline. Listen to the pair of them call the electric Crankworx Whistler downhill below. You can see why they make an exciting team!
In no time at all we will hear them back at it for Red Bull Hardline Tasmania.
