Rider Crashes In Front Of Enduro Champion
There is nothing worse than crashing in a dumb way with an audience. Ollie Lowthorpe took a spill with perhaps the nightmare witness.
Watch Lowthrope crash in front of Enduro World Cup champion Richie Rude.
In this video, Lowthorpe dropped into a hefty steep chute. As he passed a rider with a familiar-looking helmet, his back wheel went over a berm causing him to lose control and go down hard.
The most embarrassing part was his audience was none other than the best enduro rider in the world.
There are two ways of looking at this. One could be embarrassed about falling in front of Richie, but Rude is a rider who is always riding with people worse than he is. Does he really notice if someone goes down on steeps? If anything, Lowthorpe is just more memorable.
Lowthorpe said that a rear brake failure caused him to crash. Mechanicals in the steeps are an absolute nightmare scenario. Ollie was lucky he did not go down harder.
This crash was from the beginning of the year and had an effect on Lowthorpe’s season. Ollie sprained his ankle in this crash and he said that it bothered him until Crankworx, smack in the middle of summer.
Ollie Lowthorpe is a rider from Squamish. He is best known for sending crazy lines with his rubber duck on his handlebars.
