After four successful sold-out years, registration for the fifth annual Santa Cruz NZ Enduro opens tomorrow, November 26th at 12:00 PST. The enduro will take place on New Zealand’s South Island March 8-10, 2019.

The three days of racing will take riders around the Marlborough Sounds, and through the lush and loamy forests of the South Island. Natural trails hold both fast and flowy sections as well as the steep and technical during long stage descents. The NZ Enduro has a fairly relaxed format with no set start list or liaison times. Feel free to goof off with your friends and go for a swim between runs.

Entrance costs about $255 USD ($375 NZD), and for that you’ll get shuttles, helicopter uplift, daily food, beer, BBQ and professional timing, not to mention the infamous NZ Enduro swag bag on sign up.

Due to the pristine and sacred nature of the trails, the rider limit is capped at 140 entries. Registration is a lottery-type system and will be open until December 2, at which time the 140 applications will be chosen at random and notified by email. Groups can apply together to ensure that, if chosen, you and all your friends can race together.

From NZ Enduro: Through its trail advocacy programs, raffle and trail maintenance days the NZ Enduro has raised over $10 000 and put hundreds of hours back into the trails it uses, as well as opening up new trails in conjunction with www.trailfund.org.nz and Marlborough MTB club.
