Recognizing that the width, sweep, bend and rise of a handlebar is a very personal choice to a rider, Truvativ have released a series of BlackBox athlete series bars. Jerome Clementz, Danny Hart and Stevie Smith were the three sponsored riders who were given the opportunity to design their very own bar that had whatever dimensions they personally wanted.

The Basics:
• $83
• 7050 Al Alloy
• 780mm wide
• 30mm rise
• 5˚ up-sweep
• 7˚ back-sweep
• 340 grams

The Story:
Downhill ace, Stevie Smith, rides the gnarliest terrain and does so at warp speeds. He's a brute, strong, powerful and pointed straight down the mountain. Smith's style requires a heads-up approach.

Accordingly, Smith's signature bar is high and out in front, giving him ultimate control. His signature 780-millimeter downhill bar features a 30-millimeter rise, which keeps his hands forward, his head up and his eyes focused. A number of Bike’s editors have bolted Smith’s signature bar to test rigs–expect a a trail report in the near future.
