Last year, the Hei Hei (pronounced hey hey) Trail was introduced as a carbon, all-around ripper. For the 2019 model year, it’s receiving the aluminum treatment. Why? So (semi) budget-minded riders can get on a bike worth riding.

What’s different? Nothing really. Well except the aluminum, obviously. Both the Hei Hei Trail and the Trail DL are 27.5-inch, 140-millimeter bikes serviced by Kona’s Fuse suspension platform. The DL is the higher end of the two models, with a RockShox Revelation fork, Deluxe RL shock, SRAM GX Eagle drivetrain and Reverb dropper. It will sell for $3,500.

The Hei Hei Trail has a RockShox Sektor RL fork, Deluxe RL shock, a Shimano Deore drivetrain and TransX dropper. All of that will cost you $2,700.
