Kona Releases the Process 24

Little shredders rejoice

Kona has been making waves with its second-generation Process line. We were first impressed with the Process 27.5 CR/DL, which became a quick favorite at our 2018 Bible of Bike Tests in Marquette, Michigan. Then the carbon 29-inch version came out and looked like a rockin’ good time. We’re testing that now, so stay tuned. But that leaves something missing. What about all the little rippers following their rad Dads and Moms down the hill? Kona long served its high-speed, high-standard young customers with its Stinky 24, but times have changed, and those youngsters want something more modern. Well, Kona is giving it to them.

Enter the Process 24. For $2,000 the aspiring rider can hop on the 100-millimeter front and rear aluminum bike and start getting rowdy. It has a 10-speed Shimano Deore drivetrain, a RockShox Deluxe R Solo Air shock, a Manitou Machete Comp Air fork, Shimano hydraulic disk brakes (with 180-millimeter rotors!) and the tried-and-true Beamer suspension system we have seen on other new Kona bikes. If that spec list doesn’t make it clear enough, the above video will. This is a real bike ready for real trails, but just don’t call it the Stinky 24.
