Eminent Releases Full Details on the Onset MT
Two weeks ago, we got our first look at the Onset MT, Eminent's first true long-travel 29er. And that's just about all we knew about it. It's a long-travel 29er. 155-millimeter rear, 160 front. Today, the Onset is hitting store shelves, and we're able to share a little more about it.
If we were to put these numbers into words, we'd say the Onset MT is modern but moderate. It's not trying to get out ahead of any trends, but it's not behind on any either. If bikes like the Yeti SB150 or the newly released Transition Sentinel are too long and floppy, the Onset MT aims to be a more precise alternative. And to put some words back into numbers, the build options are at $4,900, $6,500 and $8,500. There's definitely something forward-thinking about the spec. Every bike is Shimano-equipped from tip to tail, with the three builds anchored to SLX, XT and XTR. The suspension is also interestingly SRAM-free, with a DPX2 and 36 on the entry-level Comp model and the new Float X2 and 38 on the Advanced and Pro models.
As is the trend these days, we faced some delays in getting our test bike, so we don't have a ride report to bring you today, but we will soon enough, so watch this space.
