As if we needed another reason to love e*thirteen wheels, the trail-oriented TRS Race got updated to the better and cheaper TRS Race SL. Let’s take a quick look at the new $1,500 hoops.
The new, more traditional-looking all-aluminum hubs make no compromise to their strength or their impressive 6-degree engagement, and they happen to save you almost 40 grams. They’re made in both Boost and non-Boost spacing, so if you still love your 142×12 frame, you can keep on loving it.
The rims’ extra millimeter of internal width came at the expense of a half-millimeter of sidewall material. But thanks to an updated carbon structure, the new SL rims distribute the force of impacts better than the original TRS Race.
We’ve got a tester putting miles on the new TRS Race SL wheels as we speak, so stay tuned to see how they roll.
