Winterpark, Colorado is warming up its engines for the Crankworx Colorado slopestyle contest this weekend as well as a slew of other mountain biking events for pro and amateur riders alike. Winterpark is about a 2-hour drive from Denver so by the time I started walking the grounds all the rider qualifications were over, but some features on the course really caught my eye.
It looks like the lumberjacks have been working overtime in Winterpark.
I had to get a better view of this.
The course starts the same way as last year—a huge roll-in off of a nasty rock to ladder bridge drop.
After dropping in on the course, land on the dirt tranny and follow the red line up the corkscrew wallride till you loop around and ride on top of the ladder bridge. You can also opt to skip the ladder, loop around on the wallride and step up into a dish. More options than ever follow, this course is pretty crazy.
Of course more construction awaits the riders, here’s a big step up somewhere mid-course. I can’t wait to see the riders on it tomorrow. The competition is on Saturday, stay tuned to ww.bikemag.com for photo galleries from the contest.
