Wet, brutal…the rain hit the ground hard in Hafjell on Sunday and so did a heck of a lot of the best riders. Sunday proved another very good day to be Stevie Smith, who topped the podium for the second race in a row. It was also a hell of a weekend for Giant–with Danny Hart taking second and Andrew Neethling getting onto a World Cup podium for the first time. Series leader, Gee Atherton, had the fastest qualifying run, but a slip up in the rocks put him back in 12th place.
As it stands, a mere 17 points now separate Atherton and Smith, which means that we’re in for a hell of a final round of racing in Leogang next weekend.
Sit back, click “Play” and count yourself lucky that it wasn’t you T-boning those trees in Hafjell.
