The Bike Crew Rides Remote New Zealand Singletrack

Escaping on the North Island's Te Iringa Track

Be sure to check out our feature story on the adventure.

This past March, we escaped the crowds and competitive atmosphere of Crankworx Rotorua for an overnight adventure on a remote stretch of New Zealand singletrack. Led by freerider Mike Hopkins, we took on the North Island’s Te Iringa Track, a challenging route littered with hike-a-bikes, sketchy bridge crossings, and, of course, some pristine trail. We arrived at the Oamaru Hut after the first day completely spent, glad to have a roof over our heads and a fire burning under it, and giddy with anticipation for the next day’s descent back to the trailhead.
