Trek C3 Project: Competition 003 at Crankworx L2A

Trek’s Brett Rheeder continues his Crankworx conquest after having won the first stop in Rotorua, New Zealand. It was an especially sweet win for Rheeder, who broke his back in 2013 and fell twice during competition in Les Deux Alpes in 2014.

His teammate, Brandon Semenuk, came in a close second after missing one of his tricks. Semenuk, who’s put less time towards competition in the past couple of years, reflected on the elevated level of riding in slopestyle: “The level at contests these days has gone way up and I don’t think it’s going to slow down anytime soon. I think it’ll be harder to be as consistent as it was a few years ago.” Semenuk had a tough start to his slopestyle season with a hard crash in Rotorua that left him unable to complete his second run, but at least he’s on the cover of our freshly printed Photo Annual!
