Showcase POV

Bike magazine reviews HD helmet cams from V.I.O., GoPro, Contour, Epic and Drift.

Ever wonder how the video quality changes between the top-brand POV cameras? Well, in this web-feature, Squirrel puts them each to the test. Check out the July issue of Bike magazine for a more in-depth rundown and test of these cameras.

Squirrel compares five POV cameras head-to-head, back-to-back on the same (overgrown) course. The same memory card was used throughout the test (save for the ContourGPS, which uses a MicroSD card). Each camera was set to shoot 60 frames per second with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels (save for the Drift, which was shot at 30 frames per second).

To most accurately compare the videos is to download the original video source (linked below each embedded video) as the quality is reduced when uploaded, however, the Vimeo videos will give a good base comparison.

    Thank you for the post.
Very conveniant to have the same shooting for all the cameras.
Could you redo the same thing in a darker area ( in the woods, at dawn, etc. ) ?
    Thanks again.
