The Portland Design Works / Paved Magazine Circulus Pursuit was a single-elimination pursuit-style race around the compact (about 40 feet in diameter) circular velodrome. The competition came down to a very exciting finals round between Jason, an explosive young show-boater, and Geneo, a 49 year old Minneapolis resident and bike shop owner who has spent many years towing start lines. Jason, despite his dominance in the previous rounds, seemed to blow up in the finals, and Geneo dominated the race catching Jason about halfway through the heat claiming the Portland Design Works / Paved Magazine Circulus Pursuit championships.

Congrats to Gene-O for the win – it’s good to see many familiar faces in these terrific images when I can’t be there myself.
