Wolfpack Hustle Marathon Crash Race Goes Big-League
Partnering up with Chrome, Red Bull has added the Wolfpack Hustle Marathon Crash Race to its quiver of extreme events.
“Thousands of racers will ascend on and crash the Los Angeles Marathon race course in the dead of the night to compete in one of the toughest urban cycling races known to man. Chrome has partnered with Red Bull to bring the Wolfpack Hustle Unified Title Series to the next level of urban racing. This is just the first stop of the three-race series that will span over several months including the L.A. Crit and the 6th St. Sprints. Only one man and one woman will be immortalized as winners of the official sacred dog tags which will prove their endurance, speed, and power.”
Featured in Vol. 2, Issue 2 of Paved, the Wolfpack Hustle is a different breed of group ride. The L.A. Marathon Crash Race ups the ante even further, poaching the closed-course L.A. marathon route the dawn before the race.
“This is not your hippie nephew’s Critical Mass. Nor is it your team’s Saturday bagel ride…the guy on the singlespeed is BMX pro Todd Lyons, who will pass you on the upcoming descent while pulling a wheelie. The kid on the Specialized Tarmac who drops you is 18-year-old Fabian Vasquez, who took second in this year’s Wolfpack Marathon Crash race—a 4 a.m. poach of the Los Angeles Marathon course.”
