Celebrated poster artist Steve Thomas has been creating a series of excellent prints for the Garmin-Sharp team for some time now. They’ve consistently triggered our inner “I want that” voice, and the latest, a 30-inch by 20-inch commemoration of Paris-Roubaix, featuring 2011-winner Johan Van Summeren all alone in the forest of Arenburg, has us contemplating how best to free up some wall space.
Steve Thomas is well-known for his old-school interpretation of modern subject matter, giving his signature treatment to such cultural icons as Star Wars, and now, cycling.
“My love for vintage poster, propaganda and product art from the early 20th century and an interest in retro-futuristic art from the mid-20th has led me to create some cool poster art. I mean, who doesn’t want to travel the solar system or join the fight against the villains of 1980s arcade games?” – Steve Thomas
This print, as well as all of the others in the series released thus far are available for purchase at the Garmin-Sharp web store. All are limited editions, meaning that, after the initial run sells out, you’re, we’ll, out of luck.
