The Bianchi Oltre in Vacansoleil livery
Bianchi will head to the Giro this year with two teams aboard the flagship Oltre. World-Tour team Vacansoleil and Pro Continental Team Androni Giocattoli will be showcasing Bianchi’s flagship steed for the 2012 season.
We wrote about the Oltre Super Record in the premier issue of Paved and were thoroughly enamored:
“Leave it to the Italians to swathe a bike in green paint seemingly better-suited to a baby shower than a start line and still end up with a final product that simply radiates sex appeal. Slap a sexy-sounding moniker on the particular hue, and before you know it, you’ve got Celeste, a cycling legend in itself. So if Bianchi can make pastels sexy, it only stands to reason they can do absolute wonders with a bicycle. For the Oltre, Bianchi takes high-modulus carbon, an innovative frame design and 125 years of experience to create a super-bike as only the Italians can do. For drivetrain duties, Italian compatriot Campagnolo contributes its sultry Super Record grouppo, enhancing the Bianchi’s already sensual demeanor. Color-matched lever hoods add an air of sophistication, while Fulcrum’s Racing Speed hoops seal the deal, making the Oltre a veritable schoolboy’s fantasy.”
