If you've seen the monstrous gap-jump sequence in the October 2002 issue of BIKE, and you've read his interview on the site, then you know that if anyone knows how to go big and make a difficult task look easy, it's Wade Simmons. Well, sometimes even the best in the business have an off moment -- fate caught up with Wade during shooting for NSX 6.
Simmons was attempting to jump a 45-foot, rock- and log-strewn chasm. It is reported that he cleared the gap with room to spare, but miscalculated his landing and broke his femur on impact. Wade has had successful surgery and is currently recovering. We will report any further updates once they become available. -- Gar Gulmanuts
