At this point, with 2 and a half laps to go, the race was Wells’ to lose; Trebon was eating into his lead on the straights, but Wells–who dedicated the win to his former coach–was able to power through and take his third National ‘Cross title–and his third National title of the year, having also claimed the XC and STX National titles during the mountain bike season.
