Open Season: July Issue Out Now

Where will your bike take you this summer?

As we approach the heart of the best riding months of the year, it’s open season for travel, adventure and exploration by bike. We celebrate the season with stories of singletrack bliss from Aosta Valley, Italy, a spectacular region in the Alps where France, Switzerland and Italy come together. With its vast network of backcountry huts, easy access to the alpine and a lift-accessed bike park right in the center of town, you could ride in the Valley for weeks, experience a new rad trail every day, and top it all off with gelato, espresso, vino and pizza, in whatever order you choose.

And in Jasper National Park, it’s not only legal to mountain bike, it’s encouraged. Senior photographer Bruno Long and writer Andrew Findlay traveled to the park to find out how local riders have made rare inroads with a government agency on the value of trails and mountain bikes.

In the gear section, we test the Salsa Deadwood, Norco Sight 9.2 and Liv Pique Advanced. Plus, how do the Mavic XA Pro Carbon and Stan’s Bravo Pro stack up in a head-to-head test? Our pro gear tester Ryan Palmer weighs in.

And you don’t want to miss the reader-favorite “Butcher Paper” and “Grimy Handshake” columns. Check out the full issue on newsstands now or download a digital issue HERE.
