Been rocking that custom Rasta Chris King headset for the past decade? This may just be the perfect event for you. Set for February 20-27, the 13th annual Jamaica Fat Tire Festival is sure to provide a unique singletrack experience.
If you’ve never thought of Jamaica as a destination for epic rides and flowy singletrack you’d be well-served to think again. Jamaica’s far from being all Red Stripe and reggae, and actually boasts a surprising amount of visually stunning, technical singletrack.
The festival starts things off right with a showcase of the island talent at the Jamaica Bicycle Festival, which features a five-mile race looping through Oracabessa, a skills course race, and the ever-popular Rambolympics.
The rest of the week’s focus hones in on full days of the best trails Jamaica has to offer, with each day capped off by a night of Island hospitality.
Spaces are extremely limited, but if you’d like to attend, get in touch with the St. Mary’s Off-Road Mountain Biking Association (SMORBA), which can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org, or for more info check out our site at www.smorba.com.
