Preparing for its second season, the FMB World Tour gained its first committed partnership with the protection company, TSG. This partnership is a step towards the FMB World Tour’s goal of establishing itself as an overarching world series event (a model of which is already cemented in other comparable action sports, such as the TTR World Snowboard Tour). With thit TSG partnership, the Freeride Mountain Bike Association (FMBA) aims to help develop the sport of Freeride Mountain Biking by providing athletes and event organizers with a tangible world ranking system and guidelines for course design, judging and safety.
For TSG, the commitment to sponsor the FMB World Tour is the next logical step in its efforts to further support the sport of mountain biking. TSG’s managing director, Ruedi Herger, commented, “From the very start we loved the idea and goals of the FMB World Tour, since we are convinced that the mountain bike sport and existing events will profit greatly from a global, structured tour. After giving our support in the first year, we are excited to enter into a stable and lasting partnership with the FMB World Tour. Supporting the FMB World Tour is the perfect way to combine the two aspects of our brand philosophy to protect the athlete and support the sport at the same time.”
Naturally, the FMBA is excited to count TSG among their partners. Tarek Rasouli, president of the association explains: “The partnership with TSG is a great starting point in the planning for the 2011 season. Of course, we are currently talking to other interested parties and are looking forward to announce more partnerships soon.” Preparations for the FMB World Tour are already in full swing and the FMBA is excited to take the next steps with their first partner for the 2011 season at its side and announce further details soon.
