Dreambikes Update: $15,402 Raised for Wheels4Life

Crankbrothers first started the Dreambikes program with a goal to turn a few bikes into hundreds for people of third world nations through the Wheels4Life organization. After two weeks of the Dreambikes auction, we are proud to announce that we are on our way to accomplishing just that. So far, four Dreambikes have been auctioned for a total of $15,402 – raising enough money to purchase 102 bikes. These bikes will provide children with a way to get to and from school, nurses with a way to access their patients, and parents with a way to earn a living for their families. The Dreambikes truly are changing hundreds of lives.

There have been two auctions so far on four bikes. The winners of these auctions were: Christiano Samaro (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Ryan Black (California, USA), Eric Vensel (Florida, USA) and Jon Martens (California, USA).

Hans Rey and his wife Carmen, who operate Wheels4Life, are both humbled by the success of the Dreambikes program. Carmen had a personal statement she wanted to share about the winners:

“Thanks to the generosity our four auction winners, Wheels4Life is able to get 100 children to school in Uganda, thus giving them an education and a chance of a much better life and 60 healthcare workers out into the field saving lives. That is a pretty amazing achievement. Together we are creating a difference through the gift of a bicycle and we could not do it without incredible people like Christiano Samaro, Ryan Black, Eric Vensel and Jon Martens. On behalf of those children, the nurses and Wheels4Life, we thank you.”

There are three weeks of auctions left, with six beautiful Dreambikes still available. These auctions feature bikes from Ibis, Focus, and Titus. Each Dreambike is adorned with components from SRAM, RockShox, Avid, Truvativ, fi’zi:k, and Continental Tires. All proceeds from these auctions go directly to Wheels4Life.
