If you’re a diligent reader of Bike or bikemag.com the name Dain Zaffke probably rings a bell. Dain served one of the more memorable tenures as an editorial intern here at the magazine, and made history during his three short months here. He was the first, male or female, to achieve the title of Chief Editorial Intern.

Since his internship this past fall, Dain and his special lady have moved to San Francisco. Young Dain is attending college and working part time in a bike shop, but will still be involved in the mix here at Bike and bikemag.com. His offbeat sense of humor, easy going manner, sharp writing skills and ability to talk his way past any doorman in Las Vegas have finally paid off.

Besides his intern accomplishments, the Chief is no slouch on two wheels, racing and logging serious mileage on both smooth, skinny tires and fat, knobby ones. He will be adding his opinions on the sport and gear both online and in print on a regular basis. The Chief is back. Long live the Chief.
