The Chamber of Commerce Fairfax, California, in collaboration with Goodtime Productions and Velo Club Fairfax are presenting the Second Annual Biketoberfest, Saturday, October 18, 2003, from 11 a.m.-5p.m. It will be held on the two parking lots adjacent to Fair/Anselm Plaza, Center Boulevard in Fairfax.

Dance the polka while being entertained by the live seven-piece band, "Big Lou's Polka Casserole" bringing a Bavarian groove. The bike festival begins with a family fun bike ride at 10 a.m., leaving from the Fair/Anselm parking lot on Center Boulevard. It will be a 4-mile fun ride for the whole family, led by County Supervisor Hal Brown.
At 11 a.m., the Bike Expo Market Place will open, offering vendor booths filled with bikes, gear and buys from many retailers, manufacturers and local companies. From the high-tech bikes of BMW, to transportation solutions from Breezer bikes, to scooters by Diggler and many more.
A magnificent array of vintage, custom and bike originals from the bike greats of yesteryear will be portrayed as well, which help tell the story of how mountain biking was started in Fairfax, Marin County.
In addition, enjoy an exciting Freestyle Flatland BMX Demo at noon, 1p.m. and 2 p.m., presented by local pro Jason Woodward.
An On-the-Bike Challenge safety rodeo will also take place throughout the day. The bike safety rodeo is an opportunity for kids to demonstrate and actually improve their bike handling skills by completing a series of courses that teach balance and control. Bring your helmet to participate.
All Marin bike groups will be present--Access for Bikes, Bicycle Trails Council of Marin, Marin Cyclists, Safe Routes to School/Marin County Bicycle Coalition, Tam Valley Bike Club, Trips for Kids, Velo Club Fairfax and Women's Mountain Bike and Tea Society--to let you know what's happening in your community.
Free valet bike parking and free Clif Bars given to all who ride their bike to the event.
