SR Suntour recently announced that it signed freeride pioneer, Brett Tippie to its WERX Riders program. In this program Tippie will be testing prototype products. He will also be acting as a brand ambassador.
Tippie commented on this change, “I was on Marzocchi for 16 years and I liked the suspension I was on, but it was just time for a change. I tried Garett Buhler and James Doerfling’s bikes with SR Suntour products and they felt great, so I called up the company and they really wanted to have me on board—it’s nice to feel wanted.”
When Bike magazine called Tippie for comment, he was returning from a weekend of riding and testing SR Suntour’s prototype 8-inch RUX downhill fork. He commented on his testing experience, “I’m just returning from a weekend of riding and announcing the Western Open DH at Kicking Horse Bike Park in Golden, BC. I was riding 4,000-vertical-foot runs and the RUX felt smooth and consistant the whole way down. The fork is awesome because its 38-millimeter stanchions are smaller than a Fox and bigger than a RockShox. It has high- and low-speed compression damping and rebound damping adjustments, plus a tool-free 20-millimeter through-axle.”
