Smith Optics Pivlock Overdrive
Sunglasses–they’re a no brainer. They keep sticks, branches, dust and errant flying insects from zooming into your eye socket. If you’ve ridden for any length of time, you’ve undoubtedly realized the upsides of eye protection. Fortunately, there a lot of good models on the market. Not all shades, however, are created equal.
We like the Smith Pivlock Overdrives, which allow you to swap out lenses with no drama at all. Each pair of glasses comes with three sets of lenses and the swap procedure is so easy that you can actually do it on the trail in just seconds. If you ride somewhere with contrasting light conditions (fireroad climbs followed by forested descents, for example), the interchangeable Carbonic TLT lenses are a godsend. Smith offers a total of nine base shield lenses, so dialing in the right tint for your tastes and ride conditions is never a problem.
What’s more, the Smith’s are incredibly comfortable (even the non-slip nose pads are adjustable) and mate well with a wide variety of helmets.
Here are just a few more noteworthy features:
*Medium Fit / Large Coverage
*TR90 Frame Material
*Hydroleophobic Lens Coating
*Slide-On Temple Tips
*Hydrophilic Megol Temple & Nose Pads
