Hi there.
As a long time reader of your magazine, I would like to draw your attention to an Irish company that has by far the best cycle vacation website I have ever seen. It is called www.irishbikingtours.com and it is run by the most famous Irish cycling family in the country - the McQuaids, (PAT McQuaid is President of the UCI!).
Anyway, the reason I think you should do a story on these guys is they run a spectacular operation. I have been on a few Backroads tours and they don't compare to these guys. Sure a Backroads tour is going to be professionally run, you'll stay in nice places, ride nice Treks etc. etc. But the fun we had with irishbikingtours, (formally Celtic Trails) was far beyond anything we had ever experienced on any of the many bike tours we have done in the past.
And you would be directing people to what I do honestly believe is the best cycle vacation website on the Net.

I have an outside perspective on the 26/29 inch wheel.
I have only ridden a 26 inch Mountain bike wheel.
I currently ride a 700 centimeter tubular road wheel.
I converted 26 inches to (66 cm)
I converted 29 inches to (74 cm)
I consider this a base.
29 inches is rounded from 73.6? up to 74 cm.
Twenty six inches requires less math to be a more accurate 66.? cm.
Twenty nine inches for a bike wheel historically recalls a high wheel bike that has proportionately more wheel than bicycle frame.
A mountain bike has a primary frame need of a top tube.
Anything exceeding the primary need of a top tube puts a Mt. bike in margin of total failure.
I think older cyclist desire tubular Mt. bike wheels.
They can not function unless as a tubular/clincher.
A tubular wheel could easily have a clincher flange or bead built when the tire surface is applied.
I have no founding of a tubular clincher as material.
Low roll weight is a quality/quantity that quality will always win.

FYI. I sent this email to Cindy Karamitis @ sourceinterlink. Cindy. Hi. I recently began subscribing to Bike magazine and so far I've enjoyed it. However, this weekend, I received via mail an unsolicited "offer" to join the National Rifle Association that used an address that I gave only to Bike magazine. In other words, the NRA sent their piece to me using an address that I gave to Bike and only Bike. I have a special place in my mind and heart for the NRA - and it's not a good place. In selling my subscription address to the NRA or some intermediary mailing house you have violated my sense of good judgment. I like bikes, not rifles. Got it? So, although I enjoy your magazine, your mailing list policy violates my sense of propriety. Please cancel my subscription immediately. Thanks.

I really enjoy Bike Mag and have been a cross-country rider for many years. There's an excellent site on the net that you should let your readers know about, maybe do an article. This guy recycles bikes into HIGH ART or COOL SH*T etc.

I know there are many slopestyle events now, but Monster Park was great.

I work for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Paramus, NJ and we have a big road bike event coming up in September to raise money. We are trying to get the local bike shops involved and already have a few but we need as many as possible. The main photo for the "Riding Wild" feature should be made into a poster! I'd bet it would be a great seller. At the very least...a version or to that can be downloaded as wallpaper would be welcomed.
I can only dream of riding in place with a view like that...

As a Canadian transplant in Alabama I was super excited to read the 50 incredible rides article. I drove three hours to Salem, AL, talked to the locals, visited the bike shop, attempted to find the trail and know one knew about it. The bike shop had "heard" someone was riding out there. The people in Salem didn't know what I was talking about and I left after three hours of aimlessly looking for the "Ghost Town Trail" that I drove three hours to ride. All I got was a gas bill and a car full of red clay dust. How can you have a trail as the 50 best if no one has heard of it in the town that it is supposed to be located in? I am now afraid to check out any of the others for fear of the same thing as 5 of the recommended trails are less than 6 hours from me.

This is my first time writing this mag. I am a soldier in Iraq and I just finished reading the July '08 Bike mag here in Iraq, and I just wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciated the editorial letter at the beginning. It is encouraging to me to hear my fellow Americans voice their support for those of us overseas, and not taking for granted the freedoms that still to this day have a heavy price tag. Generosity is an American trademark from those grateful of sacrifice. I also wanted to thank you for a great mag. Besides playing with my children again, hopping on my bike and hitting the trails is the only other thing I think about on a daily basis. I have been riding since I was a teen and there is almost nothing better than to find yourself on a trail having to stop for a minute to take in the absolute beauty of the landscape given to us to fathom. Your magazine has done a wonderful job of taking in that landscape. It helps me realize how proud I am to be an American.

I recently picked up the July issue at a PX here on FOB Delta Iraq. Since there isn't a lot to do I started reading everything from page one. The first editorial I came by caught my attention. Lou, if you don't think you have 100 soldiers here that read your magazine your crazy, you have the best bike magazine out here. Anyone with any serious pedal time knows this magazine.

Dear Bike Magazine, my husband recently purchased new wheels and tubeless tires. Since then it's all he ever talks about. Sometimes he will stop talking about them, but only to tell me how terrible mine are in comparison. I can't take it anymore! I really hate to ask but was wondering if you might have laying around from a recent review you might be able to send me - its the only thing I can think of to end my misery! By the way, Love the magazine, I just wish that occasionally you would run a sweepstakes for a women specific bike.

hello everybody at bike mag. Im a simple young man from a simple place and, like must of us out there, get my greatest amount of joy and well being from riding my bike. I write to you because I am forced into my own sh*tbike challenge. I used to have two bikes so when one broke I had the other until not to long ago when an ex decided to cut everything that could be cut on a bike and then threw it from a moving vehicle into my driveway for me to find. That really sucked but i still had my numero uno and was happy with that until it broke and for around 2 months now i haven't been able to ride a bike. I moved into a new place recently and in the basement was an old mountain bike that fit me but, you guessed it, is junk. Ive dug up some old parts but its all leftover stuff. Despite all this I'm very grateful I get to ride every day at least. Its been a very difficult time for me and I would like to say a big thanks to you guys for the best mountain bike magazine I know. especially the east coast issue.

I have directions to the Salem, AL. Ghost Town trail if anyone is interested in going to it in the future. I'm sorry that Shane could not get to it. It is in fact, closer to Smith Station than Salem. That might have been the difficulty he had in getting directions. The way to get to it is off HWY 280 Between Opelika, Al and Columbus, GA.
