Keyesville Classic Recap

The 22nd annual Keyesville Classic saw participation increase by 25 percent. This was Bionicon’s second year hosting the event. The weekend featured trials, XC, short track and downhill competitions in beginner, sport, expert, pro and vintage bike classes.

The all-mountain competition required riders to brave the three main events (sorry trials riders) on the same bicycle with no modifications allowed. In a tight battle between 1st and 2nd, Carl Decker (Giant) edged out former Bike magazine associate editor Dain Zaffke (WTB) by one point to take the pro all-mountain title. In the women’s pro event, Kelli Emmett swept all three events (for those in the all-mountain class), solidifying her spot at the top of the podium.
