It’s over. Like, properly over.
Finished. The End. Completed. Destination reached.

But perhaps it really isn’t. Rides like this change you, albeit subtly. Now we have closed the loop and the journey accomplished, we find ourselves reflecting on where we have been over the past 13 days, the people we met, the places we rode, and the sights that we saw.

It was an utterly stupid thing to try. Not stupid for it’s improbability or impossibility, just stupid for just how obvious it was that it was going to work once the chain of friendships and relationships kicked into gear. It might seem cliché to say this, but it really would not have been possible or, indeed, as enjoyable if it were not for all the the people who helped us along the way.

We may have been strangers to many of the people we met on our circuit of the Salish Sea but every one of them greeted us warmly and offered us assistance. I put this down to mountain bikes being a flag of peace and the mountain bike community being a village of kindred folks.
