Trek’s mountain bike brand manager, Michael Browne, was in his former life the editor of Dirt Rag magazine. That’s no secret.
It’s also no secret, as revealed in yet another mountain bike magazine, that Browne spent his formative years in “military school.”
Well, that’s all fine and good, but here’s the real scoop (the one that the boys at Mountain Bike missed): That, ahem, “military school” was in fact Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!!
By all accounts the wizardry bit was just a stage for young Michael, and these days he works his magic helping hawk Trek’s recently reenergized and revised mountain bike program. The redesigned Fuel EX, which we reported on HERE, holds huge promise and we’re currently testing a bike for an upcoming issue. The Remedy, a beefier 6-inch iteration of Trek’s new ABP (Active Breaking Pivot) suspension design was turned over to an assembled field of international media wankers last weekend. Look for the full report soon, just waiting for young Potter to get back to me on some last details.
