Friday, September 18, not quite two weeks after its official Labor Day weekend opening, the Bionicon USA Headquarters and Demo Center in the Kern River Valley suffered a devastating fire. The building, located on the main road in Wofford Heights, had undergone extensive renovations and improvements in preparation for Bionicon’s move to the Kern Valley. This was the company’s first full-time Demo Center in the U.S.A. Other Bionicon Demo Centers are in the UK, Germany and Switzerland.

This year’s shooting star Danny MacAskill, mainly known through the most successful mountain bike online clip ever that was released 4 months ago, decided to sign with rasoulution’s athlete management program. Danny will join the rasoulution team, which includes riders like the Lacondeguy brothers Andreu and Lluis, Martin Soederstroem, Benny Korthaus, Trond Hansen and Roger Rinderknecht.

After the great success of Martin Soederstroem in Whistler (CAN), when he got 3rd at Crankworx, the Swedish young gun and rasoulution decided to work together. Martin will join now the international rooster of rasoulution that includes riders like Trond Hansen, Roger Rinderknecht, Benny Korthaus as well as Lluis and Andreu Lacondeguy.
Copper Mountain is Colorado’s mountain bike and cycling hub. Riders with a competitive streak will enjoy the addition of the Copper Cup, Aug. 28 – 30, to the biking events line-up this season. This inaugural event at Copper consists of Super D (Downhill), XC (Cross Country) and the State Championship Short Track race. To help round out the weekend, Copper is right in the middle of great cycling routes, hiking, Summit County’s only go-kart track and an 18 hole championship golf course.
The world-class backcountry singletrack threatened for closure inspired over 100 cyclists from around the region to make the drive to Lima to ride, camp, eat, drink, dance and make new friends in the name of mountain bike tourism and trail advocacy.
