After spending serious time on the new Yeti SB-75 during our Bible of Bike Tests , we were divided over how it stacks up against its ‘Super Bike’ siblings.
The Intense Carbine 29 certainly evoked some intense feelings from the testers who put this impeccably equipped 29er through its paces in Sedona, Arizona.
The Specialized Epic Comp Carbon made our testers want to don race bibs and give Dave Wiens and Lance Armstrong a run for their money in the Leadville 100.
The latest version of Salsa’s all-mountain 29er, the Horsethief 2, left some of our testers wanting to hit the trail as if they were running from the law.

Since when did cross-country mountain biking become synonymous with spandex, seriousness and shedding every possible gram from your bike? For most riders, it’s simply about going for a shred with your friends—and, of course, going as fast as you can, both down and up.
Most mountain bikers are well aware of Specialized’s flagship Stumpjumper and Enduro models. But hiding in the shadow of these standout bikes is a less-celebrated yet equally capable beast: the Specialized Camber Expert Carbon EVO 29.
Sure, we know this video is a Race Face ad—a grandiose, big-production piece designed to unveil the company’s 2014 apparel line in grand fashion. And it certainly does that. But perhaps more importantly, it showcases some of the many sick-ass trails around Nelson, with Kinrade joyfully shredding amid a sublime backdrop of mind-numbing alpine scenery.
Anyone who’s seen Nico Vink get sideways on ridiculously big jumps will tell you he’s one of the steeziest riders around. This video of him gettin’ loose in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park gives a glimpse into why he’s one of Belgium’s sickest riders.
Ever wonder what it’s like spending the better part of a month on our (mostly) dude ranch, testing bikes and gear for our annual Bible of Bike Tests? This video should help put a few things into context. Strava and spandex not included.

Red Bull Bike visited us on location in Sedona, Arizona, last October and created this behind-the-scenes look at our yearly testing grind.
With as many bells and whistles as the Scott Genius LT 700 Tuned comes equipped with, it’s no wonder our testers had such varied thoughts about this capable bike. But while its unbeatable array of high-end components had us in love at first sight, after spending considerable trail time on the bike, some testers questioned whether it was trying to be too many things at once. Check out this video to see it straight from the horses’ mouths:
If this video doesn’t get you amped for a Saturday-afternoon shred, we don’t know what will. James Doerfling is one of the world’s most talented big-mountain riders, and his talent shines through during every second of this video. Filmed in the mountains around his home in Williams Lake, British Columbia, it’s awesome to see him cut loose in his own stomping grounds. And speaking of stomping, wait until you see the flex he puts his tire under toward the end of the video. Simply. Sick.
Of all 34 bikes in the 2014 Bible of Bike Tests, the Santa Cruz Bronson C was definitely one of the most talked-about. Each of our testers was fired up to see how the new 650b bike would compare with the company’s tried-and-true Blur LT. Watch this video to find out what we discovered. Be sure to make it to minute marker 6.21 to hear what our gear editor really thinks about press-fit bottom brackets. You’ll be glad you did.
